Invitation to 2008 KATE International Conference

It is with great pleasure that I invite all of you to attend the 2008 KATE International Conference. This conference will focus on " Incorporating Global Issues in English Education: Contents, Methods, and Materials ", and will take place at Pukyong National University (Daeyon Campus, Busan) on July 4th and 5th, 2008.

This year, we are honored to have Dr. Duk-Ki Kim (Korea University, Korea) and Dr. Brian Tomlinson (Leeds Metropolitan University, UK) as the keynote speakers, and Dr. John Kullman (Canterbury Christ Church University, UK), Dr. Hayo Reinders (University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA), Dr. Robert Waring (Notre Dame Seishin University, Japan), Dr. Robert Fouser (Kagoshima University, Japan) and Prof. James Lopez (English Language Teaching Centre, Malaysia) as plenary speakers. With over 50 presentations, the conference will focus on various areas of English education, with particular reference to contents, methods, and materials in the EFL context. I expect that you will share your valuable experience and ideas on pursuing professional integrity and expanding theoretical and practical horizons in ELT.

It is my sincere hope that all of you will participate in the conference and find the forum most fruitful and rewarding for better understanding of the complex issues associated with professional integrity in English education.
